Battles on RPV

Battles are a key part of RPV, allowing players to compete against each other with their role playing skills. There are two ways to initiate combat: by using a Combat Request (CR) or by challenging another player.

What is a Combat Request (CR)?

A combat request is a request sent by one player to other playeres to initiate combat. When submitting RCs the player has to chose the type of the battle to be initiated which is  either friendly or with stakes. Players can initiate a maximum of 3 fights from one RC.

How to create a combat request

  1. Go to the battles page.
  2. select the character you will use for the battles from the request
  3. select the type of battle to start from the request( stake battles will consume battle tokens )
  4. submit the request

That's it. Your RC will now be visible to other players(though you won't be able to see it on the battles page) and they will be able to accept it.

Once a player accept your RC, you will be able to start or decline the fight.

If you validate and start the fight, the battle will be initiated between you and the player and a referee will have to be chosen. players will send proposals to referee your battle, you can also ask a particular player to referee your battle through chat.

Once you accept a referee, he will have to set the rules of he battle and when done, you will be able to send textpads turn by turn(starting with the initiator of the battle)

Note that only official referees can send proposals and hence referee stake battles

How does a challenge work ?

A challenge is a way for a player to challenge another player to a fight.

To challenge a player to a battle:

  1. Go to the profile page of the player you want to challenge.
  2. Click on the fire button below his profile picture, a popup will appear
  3. Select the character with which you want to challenge the player
  4. Send the challenge request(It will consume battle tokens)

The player will now receive a notification indicating you challenged him. If he is up for the challenge, he will accept it and the battle will immidiately be initiated.

Since a referee is always needed to determine the winner, other players will once again be able to send proposals to referee the challenge battle(or you can also ask a referee to referee your challenge)

Once the referee is set, he set the rules and you can start sending textpads  turn by turn.

For both types of battles, the winner is determined by the referee who plays a crucial role by validating each textpad before another can be sent.

Once the referee invalidates one textpad, the battle ends with the owner of that textpad being the loser and the other player being the winner.

No points are rewarded for friendly battles but they do not consume Battle Tokens.

For stake battles, the points are attributed to the winner based on many criterias like the rank difference between the players, the player titles(godfather, moderator...), position of the families in the leaderboard, number of textpads sent and the time the battle lasted.
